About

In the wake of several high-profile mass shootings across the country, the NRA is facing more scrutiny than ever before.

The students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have courageously stood up to the NRA, standing hand-in-hand with the grieving families and shattered communities impacted by the 270 school shootings that have taken place since Columbine in 1999.

Rather than take action to curb gun violence, politicians have chosen to remain shackled to the NRA. In 2016 alone, the NRA spent over $55 million to elect pro-gun violence officials across the country, and $3 million lobbying to prevent new federal regulations.

But perhaps even more central to the gun lobby’s staying power has been its ability to organize and recruit new members. If we want to produce real, lasting change to make our country a safer place, we need to start talking to one another about how we get there - and it starts by explaining to our friends and neighbors why the NRA needs to go.

This map is intended to inform you of who exactly is backing the NRA, and start a dialogue that can shift our culture to solutions rather than more of the same.
